North Carolina’s Supreme Court ruled in a split decision that the state legislature lacked authority to initiate state constitutional amendments because many of its members were elected from districts ruled unconstitutional.


Ohio Republican leaders pushed back against the notion they missed the deadline to enact a remedial congressional plan, citing the possibility of an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.


A Utah district court judge denied a motion to stay the lawsuit challenging the state’s congressional plan on the grounds the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s eventual ruling in Moore v. Harper remains unclear.
