Louisiana

The U.S. Supreme Court stayed the district court’s preliminary injunction, thereby allowing the state’s enacted congressional plan to be used in the 2022 elections. The case will be held in abeyance pending the Court’s decision in the Alabama redistricting challenge currently before it.

Census

The U.S. Census Bureau announced John Abowd, its Associate Director for Research and Methodology and Chief Scientist, will be leaving the Bureau this fall and be replaced by Sallie Keller, a professor at the University of Virginia’s Biocomplexity Institute.
