CASE SUMMARY

On June 4, 2025, five plaintiffs brought suit in the Northern District of Texas alleging a new map adopted for Tarrant County's Commissioners Court violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act as well as both the 14th and 15th Amendments to the United States Constitution.

The District Court denied plaintiffs' motion for a preliminary injunction on September 12, 2025.

Following an appeal and loss at the Fifth Circuit the plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed their complaint on December 1, 2025.
