CASE SUMMARY
The League of Women Voters of South Carolina filed a partisan gerrymandering lawsuit against South Carolina's congressional map on July 29, 2024. The Supreme Court of South Carolina agreed to hear the case in its original jurisdiction.
On September 17, 2025, the South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that partisan gerrymandering claims are nonjusticiable political questions under the South Carolina Constitution and its statutes.
