Case Summary
On October 27, 2025, a group of plaintiffs filed a challenge to NY-11 under the New York Constitution alleging the district was unconstitutionally racially gerrymandered. Congresswoman Malliotakis and a group of voters moved to intervene as defendants later the same week.
Judge Pearlman enjoined the use of the New York congressional map following a four-day bench trial. Congresswoman Malliotakis and he co-intervenore-defendants sought a stay from the Supreme Court of the United States after appeals to the Appellate Division, First Department and the New York Court of Appeals were denied. The stay was granted on March 2, 2026.
