CASE SUMMARY
On April 10, 2024, five plaintiffs brought a lawsuit alleging two Florida state senate districts are unconstitutional racial gerrymanders. Plaintiffs argue SD-16 improperly spans Tampa Bay to connect disparate black populations in Tampa and St. Petersburg thereby diluting the black population of SD-18.
