- On November 1, 2021, the state’s legislative leaders submitted their proposed special masters to the Court. After the Court disqualified several of these initial nominees for having conflicts of interest, the leaders submitted several new candidates.
- On November 19, 2021, the Court appointed Sean P. Trende and Bernard N. Grofman as its special masters.
- On December 15 and December 17, 2021, the Court held public hearings on proposed plans.
- On December 28, 2021, the Court issued an order adopting the special master’s congressional and legislative plans as final and requiring their use for the remainder of the decade.
